School Support Staff Recognition Week (September 30 to October 4, 2024)

The week of September 30 to October 4, 2024, has been proclaimed as “School Support Staff Recognition Week” in Manitoba by the Honourable Nello Altomare, Minister of Education & Early Childhood Learning. 

School support staff occupations include: attendance officer, bus driver, educational assistant, clerical support person, community liaison worker, courier, custodian, food service worker, IT Support/Computer person, labourer/utility worker, library technician, maintenance/trades person/mechanic, and safety officer. 

School support staff help schools ensure that the education students receive is engaging and of high quality, preparing them for lifelong learning and participation in a socially just, democratic and sustainable society. 

It is necessary that school support staff are acknowledged and thanked for their contribution and commitment to the education of students.
