Wednesday, May 15, 2024, is recognized as International Day of Families.  Established by the United Nations in 1993, this day aims to raise awareness and better understand the social, economic, and demographic factors that impact families worldwide. In 2024, the theme revolves around enhancing family stability and welfare, which underscores the critical role families play in shaping societies by offering a stable and supportive environment for personal development and social inclusion.

30 Years Since the International Year of the Family

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family. The observance event will feature presentations on the outcomes of major regional IYF+30 preparatory activities, civil society initiatives, recommendations on family policies for climate action, and an interactive discussion. Additionally, two publications titled "Climate Change and Families" and "Home, Family, and Climate Change" will be unveiled during the event.
