Rock Your Mocs Week (November 12-18, 2023)

header

Rock Your Mocs Week was started by Jessica Jaylyn Atsy of Laguna, NM in 2011, and has since been organized by event producer Melissa Sanchez since 2013, as a worldwide movement every November 15th. Rock Your Mocs is an opportunity to be united and celebrate Indigenous individuality by wearing moccasins, while also honoring our ancestors and Indigenous peoples worldwide during Rock Your Mocs week.

Why a week? The original day will always be November 15 worldwide, and was increased to a week, creating more event opportunity days, especially for schools, people who work Monday – Friday, and people organizing events.

Where: Wherever you may be! Wherever your day takes you! Whether it be at home, at school, or in the office.

How to Join in: Anyone can join and participate during this week’s event. Do we have to wear our Mocs the whole week? No, choose a day or days or the whole week. Wear your moccasins, or something turquoise, the colors of the medicine wheel, or a ribbon skirt/shirt. Tell your own story.

Social Media: Use the hashtag #RockYourMocs when you post on social media.
