As previously announced, the Brandon School Division is pleased to announce the construction of Maryland Park School at 700 Maryland Avenue. The new 65,660-sq.ft. K-8 school will be constructed for 450 students with ability to expand to a capacity of 675 students, and is scheduled to open in September 2020.
During a public information session held at the Riverview Curling Club on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, the public was invited to speak with and ask questions from MCM Architects Inc., BSD Senior Administration and Trustees, and the City of Brandon Planning, Property & Buildings Department. Those in attendance were able to view preliminary drawings and plans from the exterior and interior of the new school. Please note the images below are preliminary drawings, and are subject to change.
Schedule/Timelines:
- The project is currently in the design and development stage and is on schedule.
- Tender for construction will be issued in November 2018.
- Ground Breaking Ceremonies in February 2019.
- Construction to be complete in August 2020.
- School to open in September 2020.
The catchment area for the new school is currently under review.
The construction of the new school is funded by the Province of Manitoba.
