Winter Weather Information

Now that the weather has turned colder, we would like to provide a reminder of our procedures regarding inclement weather, school closures, and transportation notices.

When inclement weather is expected, or when school closures or transportation notices may be required, an Alert Notice will appear at the top of our website (www.bsd.ca) and on our social media channels. Local media outlets will also receive detailed information.

Brandon School Division’s Supervisor of Transportation monitors conditions closely, consulting with local municipal offices and surveying bus routes. Any necessary decisions are made by 6:30 am.

Because student safety is our highest priority, if bus service is cancelled or a school must close, we will notify local media prior to 7:00 am. An automated phone call will also be sent to each affected family as soon as possible.
