Treaty Week (May 18-22, 2026)

The week of May 18-22, 2026, has been proclaimed as "Treaty Week" by the Honourable Tracy Schmidt, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning.  

Treaty week provides an opportunity for all Manitobans to deepen their understanding of the history, spirit, and intent of Treaties, which remain living agreements.  

Education about Treaties promotes awareness, understanding, and reconciliation, and supports students, educators, families and communities in learning about the significance of Treaties in Manitoba.
