Superintendent/CEO Announcement

Brandon School Division Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mr. Jon Zilkey has been appointed Superintendent/Chief Executive Officer of Brandon School Division, effective July 1, 2026. 

Jon Zilkey brings 30 years of experience in education in Manitoba and 10 years of experience in senior administration, including Assistant Superintendent for Park West School Division, Superintendent of Swan Valley School Division, and, for the last five years, Assistant Superintendent of Brandon School Division. He has also served as Principal for Hamiota Schools and as a long-time educator at Elton Collegiate.

Mr. Zilkey holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Bachelor of Physical Education Degree, and a Bachelor of Education After Degree from the University of Manitoba, and a Master of Education Degree from Brandon University. Mr. Zilkey graduated from Grandview School K-12 and has worked in the Westman area for his entire teaching career. 

Mr. Zilkey brings to this position considerable educational experience, with a strong focus on students and their needs and a commitment to improving the system for all stakeholders, including students, families, and staff.
