Crocus Plains Presents
Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School is proud to announce its upcoming spring musical, Amélie. Adapted from the 2001 film, this beautiful, family-friendly coming-of-age story will inspire audiences with its powerful themes of resilience and imagination.
Directed by Ramey Praznik, musical direction by Clint McLachlan, choreographed by Monique Roy-Keller and featuring a talented cast of Crocus Plains students as well as a live orchestra, this family-friendly production promises to send you away humming and with a skip in your step.
Amélie Poulin sees the world as no one else does. She is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world, but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small, but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy to those around her. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realizes that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart.
“Amélie’s story is at once cautionary and eternally, infinitely hopeful. Blessed — or possibly cursed — with an active imagination, she’s so busy remaking the world into a Technicolour adventure that she lets reality drift into the distance. Yet this obstacle is also what frees her. Time and again, someone or something fascinates her and draws her beyond her fantasies.”
-Los Angeles Times
Be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection, and sees possibility around every corner. Amélie is an enchanting story and will leave audiences with hope and joy in their hearts!
