Canadian Environment Week takes place from June 1–7, 2025, offering an opportunity to celebrate our natural environment and take meaningful action to protect the places we love.
“Established in 1971, Canadian Environment Week celebrates Canada’s environmental accomplishments and encourages Canadians to contribute to conserving and protecting their environment.”
This annual week of awareness aligns with World Environment Day on June 5, an initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme. In 2025, the global focus is on ending plastic pollution—a critical step toward a healthier planet.
Canadian Environment Week builds on this theme by recognizing the efforts being made both at home and around the world to create a greener future.
Protecting our environment is a shared responsibility, and even small actions make a difference.
