May 5-11, 2025, marks the 74th annual Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) “Mental Health Week” in Canada.  The week is dedicated to breaking down the stigma associated with mental illness, encouraging individuals to seek help, and promoting mental health education in communities worldwide.

This initiative, supported by various organizations and mental health advocates, emphasizes the importance of recognizing mental health as a critical component of overall health. The week provides an opportunity for people to engage in conversations about mental health issues, share their experiences, and access resources and support.

Mental Health Week is a social change campaign to educate the public and shift beliefs and perceptions about mental health. It helps promote behaviours and attitudes that foster well-being, support good mental health and create a culture of understanding, and acceptance.
