Nutrition Program

As part of the provincial Universal Nutrition Grant, JR Reid is pleased to offer an optional Breakfast Program for all students from September through June.
Students who are registered for the program by completing a waiver form may arrive at school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. for breakfast. Breakfast will be served in the library, and supervision is provided for students attending the program. Respectful and appropriate behaviour is important to ensure the continued success of this program.
In addition, all students have access to nutritious snacks throughout the school day. Fruit bins are available in every classroom, and during recess students may also access healthy snacks from the snack fridge located in front of the office. For students who require additional support, lunches are provided as well — ensuring that no child goes without a balanced meal during the school day.
All food items meet Canadian nutritional guidelines and are carefully selected to support healthy growth and development. By providing consistent access to nutritious food, we help create an inclusive learning environment where all children can concentrate, participate, and thrive.
Registration forms are available at the school and attached to the top right for your convenience.
