Attendance

Students sitting in desks with a female teacher at the front of a classroom

Please contact Mrs. Bev Thiessen if you know your child will be arriving late or absent at (204) 729-3957 / thiessen.bev@bsd.ca

Try your best not to call the main office as it can be a busy place, there are many needs to be met by staff, students and visitors to the school. Call ahead to excuse your child's absence or tardiness whenever possible. Always do your best to have your child(ren) to school on time.

If your child is leaving early whenever possible, please let your child's teacher know the day before. If you call the office at the end of the day and get no answer, it's likely because we are delivering a message to a teacher already about a child leaving early. This is very time consuming for the office.

If you have emailed your child's teacher about their attendance, please email Mrs. Thiessen as well.  It is good practice to do so, as your child's teacher may be away. The more people you notify, the better.

If your child arrives late, you will still receive an absence call. Only when you call ahead to excuse them of being late will you not receive a call. If you do receive an attendance call you must call the school, or send a note with your child excusing their absence or tardiness.

If your child will be absent from the Y Program, please emailangela.forsythe@ymcabrandon.com
