Food For Thought Program

Riverheights School takes part in the Food For Thought Snack Program.  There are several schools in BSD that benefit from this program feeding approximately 150 students per day.

Brandon's Food For Thought Program began its work in Brandon in 1997 when funds were allocated by the Canadian Living Foundation to address the issue of children going to school hungry. Their goal is not to remove Parental responsibility but to educate the children, their families and our entire community about the effect that hunger has on a child's ability to learn.

We are asking that families send their child with snacks on a daily basis, unless personal circumstances make this not possible.  The Food For Thought Program is available to support those students, with a nutritional snack, who have not brought one to school.
