Things to consider when looking at attendance data: 

  • % absences includes all absences, including sickness, appointments, parental excused, and unknown.
  • % absences should not be interpreted as a direct indicator of COVID risk.
  • Schools will be watching for an unexplained increase in daily absences in comparison to the September-December average.
  • Schools will be examining the daily attendance for upward trends in absences. 
  • Attendance data is provided to parents in half-day increments to provide as timely information as possible.
  • Cohort specific attendance monitoring will be communicated directly to parents of students in the cohort when unusually high.  
  • If you are not receiving parent communications, please ensure that your contact information is updated.
