Grad 2024
GRADUATION DATE: Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:30pm
LOCATION: Brandon University, Healthy Living Center
Communication regarding grad will be through parent email, and through this webpage. Additionally, graduating students have access to a "Grad" channel on their Grade 12 Team.
Grad Fee
A grad fee of $70.00 is required for cap and gown rental, diploma folders, Healthy Living Centre rental, and all other costs associated with the convocation. This fee may be paid online through School Cash. To login or register to do this please go to the following website: https://bsd.schoolcashonline.com/. If you would prefer to pay by cash or cheque (made payable to Neelin High School) these may be brought to the parent meeting or dropped off in the office at a later date. Please have grad fees paid by Spring Break (March 22nd, 2024).
Cap and Gown
A decision to wear caps and gowns was made several years ago at Neelin. The rationale for this decision includes the pride of wearing Neelin colours, the unity of our learning community, and foremost to present everyone as an equal while standing up on centre stage. Caps and ’24 tassels are to be kept by the graduates while gowns must be returned immediately following the ceremony before leaving the Healthy Living Centre.

Caps and Gowns may be picked up by the graduate or parent prior to the day of convocation, with the exact date and time provided early in June. All outstanding fees and textbooks must be returned before gowns can be picked up. This should allow for the students to get pictures done in the days leading up to, and the morning before convocation. There will not be time for cap and gown pictures after the convocation, as gowns must be returned immediately following the completion of convocation.
Grad Clothing
Grad clothing is currently available online through Source for Sports at the link NEELIN GRAD 2024. Orders must be completed by 11:59pm on Monday, November 20th. Orders are set to arrive prior to the Christmas break. There may be a second order put through in the Spring, but it will depend on demand.
Pictures
Grad pictures will be held on December 12th, 13th, and 14th; appointments must be made online. The link will be shared through Teams and Email once LifeTouch sends it to us. The sitting fee for Grad photos is $35.00. If students would like to have their photo in the yearbook and on the Grad composite, but not purchase graduation pictures, they can pay a $5.00 sitting fee.
Grand March
Immediately following the convocation ceremony students will have the option to participate in “The Grand March.” Graduates can walk alongside a friend or friends from within the grad class for the Grand March.
Students will have 10 to 15 minutes to change from their grad gowns into a grand march outfit. Their grand march outfit does not have to be fancy. It doesn’t have to be a traditional suit or dress. A grad grand march outfit can be an outfit that is special to the graduate. The divisional free grad clothing closet “Finishing Touch” allows students to obtain grad wear at no cost; appointments can be made with Ms. Braden.
Safe Grad
Safe grad is a parent/guardian run event in which École secondaire Neelin High School is not affiliated. One of the co-chairs for Safe Grad 2024 is Jim Brereton. His email contact is j.brereton1.jb@gmail.com
This is a great graduating class, and we are going to work very hard to make sure that the 2024 graduation will be memorable and special!
