Tara Smith Roe Award

Tara Smith Roe was a former member of the Kirkcaldy community and attended Kirkcaldy Heights School from Kindergarten through to Grade 8. Throughout her life, the qualities that Tara demonstrated, that family and friends remember her by, were her kindness, compassion and positive attitude. Unfortunately, Tara was one of the victims of the tragic Las Vegas shooting that occurred in 2017.
In her memory, her parents, Mark and Brenda Smith have established the Tara Smith Roe Memorial Award. This award will be given to a student who exhibits the qualities that Tara lived by.
Dannah Pentney, being this year’s recipient, displayed many of the same qualities that Tara lived by. Dannah is known by everyone in the school for kindness, inclusiveness and respectful nature to her peers and teachers. She often showed empathy and compassion to others and would be the first person to lend a hand when needed. The level of maturity, strong work ethic and positive attitude that she brought to school with her everyday made Dannah a clear choice for this award.
Congratulations Dannah!
