Every child … every day … well nourished.

The Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba is a charitable organization dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and succeed by supporting school food programs. We’re unique because we’re based in Manitoba – and all of the funds we raise stay in this province, reaching students in all regions of Manitoba.

Our school snack program provides snacks such as fruit and veggies, yogurt, cheese, granola bars and crackers.  The snacks are available throughout the school day by way of baskets in each classroom. Lunches are prepared daily and available to students as needed for students wo need additional support or forget.  The lunches are designed to meet the Moving Forward with School Nutrition Guidelines.

What is Meals2Go?

Harvest Meals2Go is a weekend breakfast program that currently serves 5,000 students every week across 15 schools in Winnipeg, northern Manitoba, and Brandon.

The program provides students with a nutritious kit of food to take home for Saturday and Sunday – the two days they do not have access to school meal programs. Each kit contains nutritious items such as: cereals, yogurt, milk, and fresh fruit. A handmade note of affirmation is also included, to ensure they know how special they are!

In filling this weekend gap, and ensuring students have access to food, the result is that students are then more likely to attend classes, and feel better mentally, emotionally, and physically.
