Youth In Philanthropy (YIP)

What is philanthropy?

Philantrhopy is the effort of promoting happiness and well-being for our fellow people.

What is Youth in Philanthropy?

Youth in Philanthropy or YIP is an exciting project where students will research charities and decide which ones would benefit the most from monetary donations. At a Gala in May the youth of this organization will present these charities with a monetary donation. Donations are made possible through a fund provided by the Brandon Area Community foundation.

Past recipients of the Crocus Plains Youth in Philanthropy awards:

  • Brandon Parent and Toy-Lending Library

  • Westman Immigration Services

  • John Howard Society

  • Street Love Ministry Inc.

  • Habitat for Humanity

  • Family Visions

  • And many more

This year the YIP committee has decided to recommend organizations displaying the following values:

1. A desire to benefit the Brandon and area community

2. A desire to ease the suffering within the Brandon and area community

3. A desire to ease the minds of people within the Brandon and area community

4. A desire to work towards creating a more stable environment within the Brandon and area community

5. Demonstrate caring towards all people within the Brandon and area community
