February 2025 has been proclaimed "Black History Month" by the Honourable Tracy Schmidt, Acting Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning, and the Honourable Nellie Kennedy, Minister of Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism.
February has been celebrated as Black History Month for more than fifty years, inspiring hope and future achievements in Black communities.
Black History Month gives Manitobans an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about the contributions of Black people and people of African descent to Manitoba’s economic, social, political and cultural life.
