March 13, 2018

On Monday, March 12, 2018, the Provincial Budget for Manitoba was announced at the Manitoba Legislature.  During this announcement, there was some great news shared about the future of Brandon School Division and the plan to build a new school in Southeast Brandon!

The funding is designated for a Kindergarten to Grade 8 School with a door opening capacity of 450 students and a future expansion plan allocating for 675 students.

"On behalf of the Board, and on behalf of the community of Brandon, I would like to thank the Province and applaud them for doing their due diligence in this process," said Dr. Linda Ross, Chair of the Brandon School Division Board of Trustees.  "Listening to our concerns that have been raised, I'd like to celebrate the fact that we are actually going to get a new school!"

For many years, our Board of Trustees and Senior Administration have been advocating and collaborating with city and provincial officials to bring this much needed new school to Brandon.

Tenders for the construction of our new school will be issued by the Public Schools Finance Board by the end of 2018.
