The week of November 10-16, 2024, has been proclaimed as “Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week” by the Honourable Tracy Schmidt, Acting Minister of Education and Early Childhood Learning.
Bullying occurs in many environments, including schools, the community, at home, in the workplace, and online. It is unacceptable conduct that causes harm to individuals, families, and the broader community. Students who are bullied are at risk of developing a range of physical and socioemotional problems.
Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning recognizes the complex nature and impact of bullying behaviours. Schools, families and community members must work together to enhance safe and caring schools through education and action.
By working together, we will strengthen our capacity to create safer school communities where all students are respected and valued and engage in the highest quality learning experiences.
