World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on March 21st each year to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects an individual's physical growth and cognitive development. This day aims to promote inclusion, understanding, and acceptance of people with Down Syndrome in all aspects of life.

“The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.”
