Artist in the School - Joan Trott

For the past month the grade 1 and 2 class has been learning about animal life cycles. We had larvae in our classroom that went into their chrysalises, and emerged into painted lady butterflies. As part of our learning we asked that Joan Trott, an artist from Hamiota, come and do some with the kids. They got to experiment with mixing colours, and using watercolour pencil crayons each created a beautiful butterfly of their own!
