 Convocation Ceremony:

  • Graduation date:  Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Brandon University Healthy Living Centre from 1:30pm - 4:30pm
  • Everyone is welcome and no tickets are required.  Please note that seating is limited so we request that grads try to invite close family only.
  • Guests with special needs are asked to contact Veronica Adams at least 48 hours in advance of ceremony to allow plans for accommodations to be made.
  • Only students who have met all graduation requirements can "cross the stage".

 

Grad Requirements:

  • 30 credits, make sure all compulsory credits from grades 9-12 are complete
  • Can use Xello Course Planner as a guide to check.  If in doubt, students can meet with their case manager
  • PowerSchool is available for all students and parents to monitor attendance, marks, and assignments.  Report cards were handed out Monday!
  • Note from student services department - PLEASE guard against complacency this semester - many grade 12 classes are FULL 2nd Semester

 

Grad Fee:

  • A fee of $40 is required for students participating in the convocation ceremony.  This fee covers gown rental, cap and tassel, diploma cover, venue rental, and other convocation costs.
  • Fee is payable to office by February 14, 2020
  • No Refunds given after May 22, 2020

 

Graduation Applications:

  • Grad applications are available from the front office, CP website or at the Parent Meeting on November 14
  • Forms may be submitted at the Parent Meeting on November 14, or anytime to the office by February 14, 2020
  • Applications must include the $40 fee, if attending convocation, and
  • MUST include: copy of birth certificate, or other legal document containing full legal name to appear on diploma (drivers licence, passport).  Application will not be processed without all supporting materials and signatures

 

Cap and Gown:

  • Caps and gowns must be picked up by the graduate or parent on Wednesday, June 24th from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the library
  • This should allow for the students to get pictures done in the days leading up to, and the morning before convocation.  There will not be time for cap and gown pictures after the convocation, as gowns must be returned immediately following the completion of convocation.
  • Students must return all library resources before they are able to pick up their cap and gown

 

Grad Clothing:

  • Will be on sale beginning in November with Ms. Kasprick.  Purchasing is online but will help parents order at Parent Night on November 14.  Previous years has been hoodies and jackets

 

Grad Banquet:

  • Friday, June 26, 2020 at Westoba Place - UCT Pavilion from 6:30pm - 9:30pm.  Doors open at 6:00pm.
  • Tickets cost $40.00 and go on sale in March.  Families can select seats when they order.  Ticket orders close end of May.  More information about how to purchase tickets will follow.
  • The banquet will include speeches and toasts to the grads and staff, a slide show of the graduates and an optional "Grand March".  Grand March participants are only students from with the current Crocus Plains graduation class.
  • Grand March, slide show, etc is only for students attending the banquet.
  • Watch for where to send Baby photos

 

 

Grad Photos:

  • December 9-13 in the cafeteria
  • ALL grads should get a picture taken, even if not buying a picture package - need for the grad composite photos and Brandon Sun insert published in June
  • Fees are $5 if not purchasing package or $30 for full sitting (cap & gown + casual images) - 14-18 proofs plus 11X14 composite photo
  • Retakes will be scheduled in the spring
  • Sorry NO PETS allowed

 

Grad Rings:

  • Jostens - will be in the school in December.  A $75 down payment is required when you order.  Check monitors and/or CP website for more info.  Brochures will be available in the office.

 

Safe Grad:

  • This is a parent/guardian run event that is organized independently from the school by parents through a "Safe Grad Committee".  Parents will have an opportunity to meet after the grad meeting on November 14th at 6:00pm in the lecture theatre to have discussions regarding safe grad.  The school administration contact is Mrs. Adams (adams.veronicam@bsd.ca).
  • Tickets for Safe Grad have typically been about $20 each
  • There is a free Safe Grad Seminar being conducted in Winnipeg on Saturday, November 23 at the Victoria Inn Winnipeg at 9:30am.  Advanced registration is required.

 

Scholarship & Post-Secondary Information:

  • Please see Ms. Porter, our career technician, or Mr. Baker, our school registrar, for information about scholarships and university or college applications
  • School and division based scholarship forms and information are conducted in April
