We Are Silent Day and Human Rights Day

On December 10th, Alexander School observed Human Rights Day.  This day commemorated the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.   We were fortunate to have Ms. Samantha Dellezay, the Education Facilitator for the Marquis Project at our school to help us celebrate this day with the presentation "Our Rights are Your Rights".  This presentation discussed our universal human rights, and examined how individual's rights around the world are being met.  This presentation was highly interactive, and used everday scenarios to understand how ingrained our human rights are in our daily lives.

Youth Revolution thought that We Are Silent Day would fit perfectly with this day.  This was the third year that Alexander students participated in this.  The students did a great job in being silent for 24 hours for the millions of boys and girls around the world facing poverty and the denial of their right to education.

Alexander School students continue to make us proud!
