Updated: October 11, 2019
The week of September 30 – October 4th was proclaimed by the City of Brandon's Mayor, Rick Chrest as Indigenous Awareness & Education Week. Throughout the week, our staff and students participated in various activities and learning opportunities to assist us with our goals:
In partnership with the Tipi Tour Legacy Project, our Administration Office installed a Tipi on the front lawn of our property on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Senior Administration, Board of Trustees, Indigenous Language Instructors and staff and students from George Fitton School and members of the Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples Council joined together for the official installation and unveiling of the first of three Tipis to be installed on Brandon School Division property.
