High School Featured Athlete - March 2019

Brandon School Division recognizes student‐athletes from each our three high schools for demonstrating outstanding character and leadership in athletics and community involvement.  Each month, one student from each of our high schools is selected as a Featured Brandon School Division Athlete.

Please join us in recognizing the following students:

Abi Gooden
Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School

Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School is pleased to name Grade 10 student, Abi Gooden, as their High School Featured Athlete.

Abi has been the heart of the Plainsmen JV Girls Basketball defence this season which has been known to be tough and feisty. She is the team's Captain and leads by example by never giving up on the play and commanding a press that has been getting 40 steals a game. Abi has been shooting the ball very well including a 19-point performance, shooting 4 of 6 from three-point range vs Miles Mac. Abi's leadership is felt through a thoughtful, outspoken voice throughout each game.

Coach's Quote:  "Abi's determination and hard work ethic has been contagious this season vaulting her team to an 8-2 record on the season. Great things will continue to happen around her as long as she exerts her full effort every game."
