Brandon School Division recognizes student‐athletes from each our three high schools for demonstrating outstanding character and leadership in athletics and community involvement. Each month, one student from each of our high schools is selected as a Featured Brandon School Division Athlete.
Please join us in recognizing the following students:
Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School
Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School is pleased to name Grade 12 student, Ryden Hargreaves, as their High School Featured Athlete.
Ryden is the Co-Captain of the Plainsmen Volleyball Team, leading the team in attack points and aces this year. Most recently Ryden helped lead the Plainsmen to their first league win of the season with a 25 kill, 6 ace performance.
Ryden continues to excel in golf as well, winning the Individual Zone 15 Golf Title this year.
Coach's Quote: "Ryden has matured a lot this year in volleyball. He continues to improve his overall game. It has been a pleasure to see him work hard to improve his serving and defence this season. As Co-Captain of the Plainsmen he has been a great role model for our younger team. His positive attitude is an attribute that will help him and others for a long time."
École secondaire Neelin High School
École secondaire Neelin High School is pleased to name Grade 12 student, Sydney Houlihan, as their High School Featured Athlete.
Sydney is a member of the 2017 Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball Finalists Team as well as a member of the 2018 Varsity Girls Volleyball Provincial Championship Team.

Coach's Quote: "Sydney has been a key player in her Grade 12 year. She brings a big block and consistency offensively. Sydney does a great job as a leader in the back row as a passer. She is an overall asset to our team."

Josh is a well-balanced student who consistently performs well in the classroom. He has high expectations of himself and follows through with a strong work ethic.
Coach's Quote: "Josh is a very intelligent and positive leader on and off the court. He is what you would call a difference maker by being a strong team motivator when we are both struggling and having success. He is responsible for building team momentum with consistent tough serves and helping our team go on scoring runs that have changed the outcome of many games this season."
Congratulations to Ryden, Sydney & Josh as this month's High School Featured Athlete!
We look forward to highlighting more students here in the 2019-2020 school year.
