Manitoba Public Health officials advised Linden Lanes School on January 10, 2021, of a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a Grade 2 class on Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6, 2021, when the individual may have been infectious. Based on the Public Health investigation, this exposure was assessed to be low risk. The infection was not believed to be acquired at school.
Linden Lanes School is working closely with Public Health officials and following their recommendations. Be assured that Public Health investigations to identify individuals who may have been exposed begin within 24 hours of a confirmed laboratory test. Anyone identified as a close contact will be contacted by phone or letter and provided instructions for self-isolation (quarantine). Testing may also be recommended.
Close contacts connected to the case have been identified and advised to self-isolate. Anyone who is a close contact has received a close contact letter or phone call from Public Health. A thorough deep cleaning and disinfection has taken place and the school was ready for staff and students on their return today.

The Brandon School Division along with all schools in the Division will continue to follow the recommendations of Public Health during this pandemic.
